Night Theater Audiobook Review

I’ve had the pleasure of narrating several audiobooks, some of which you can see on this website. Narrating an audiobook is a great responsibility, as you have to create the world for the listener; narrating the text, and voicing all the characters, men, women and children. This can take a lot of preparation, researching accents names etc, and once the prep is done, you’re ready to record in the studio.

Last year I recorded Night Theatre by Vikram Paralkar. The story is set in a doctor’s surgery in an Indian Village, when some visitors arrive and all is not as it should be. Don’t worry, no spoilers here, but as the book was beautifully written with vivid descriptions and characters, it made my job as the narrator much easier.

The audiobook has just been reviewed by AudioFile magazine, and I’m pleased they enjoyed the book and my narration. “The characters are complex and compelling, and Ghatak deftly handles the large amount of dialogue. His captivating narration skillfully carries this visceral story.”

Here’s the link with the review of the book, where you can also listen to a sample of the story. I hope you enjoy it.
